A thought before our celebration of excessive eating as a declaration that we deserve all we have that others don\u2019t.<\/span><\/p>\n Sodom<\/span><\/p>\n We often focus on some sins as being far worse than others. I agree some are. The sins we seem to have focused on recently as really bad are often associated with our sexuality.<\/span><\/p>\n We are quick to condemn those who become involved in sexuality we feel the Bible condemns. <\/span><\/p>\n Sexual immorality can be indicative of a person’s Spiritual, character or moral <\/span>values. <\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n One favorite finger-pointing comes at the expense of Sodom. We say God destroyed Sodom because of their sexual practices especially homosexuality as indicative of how God views those sins. <\/span>However,<\/span> that Old Testament story is at times difficult to understand from our modern cultural setting. The Biblical commentary on it says: \u201c<\/span>Sodom\u2019s sins were pride, gluttony, and laziness, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door.<\/b><\/i><\/span>\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Ezekiel\u202c \u202d16\u202c:\u202d49\u202c \u202dNLT\u202c\u202c<\/span><\/p>\n That should cause us to recheck our opinions of <\/span>which<\/span> sins God takes seriously. <\/span><\/p>\n Think about it.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A thought before our celebration of excessive eating as a declaration that we deserve all we have that others don\u2019t.
